“As good as the SCG pitch”

Saturday 2.3.19 | Breen Oval hosted the Independent Sporting Association’s (ISA) First Division semifinal match between St Patricks College and St Pius X College.

At many independent schools, cricket is the oldest representative sport played. That’s why it was such an honour for Solid Ground to maintain and prepare ovals and turf wicket for the all-important ISA fixtures.

In less than two months, SGL’s sports turf team has taken Breen Oval to a new level. “Our immediate priority was ensuring the lads were playing on a level and safe surface” explained Head Curator Andrew Molloy. “Since then we’ve improved the practice facilities, the outfield, and prepared a flat, unbiased pitch that played true in yesterday’s match”.
